What is the Pilates method?

Pilates is a physical training method combining muscle strengthening, stretching, and deep breathing. This discipline emphasizes deep muscles, body alignment, and concentration, thus promoting:

  • A strengthening of the core
  • An improvement in posture
  • Better flexibility and balance
  • Increased body awareness

We use equipment with springs as well as bodyweight exercises to develop a solid abdominal core and strengthen the entire body.

I have never done Pilates. Can I join a group class?

Pilates is accessible to everyone! To start in the best conditions, we recommend starting with a private class. This allows the teacher to assess your level, adapt your training, and advise you on the most suitable group classes afterward.

Will I be accompanied?

Absolutely! At Feel Pilates, we guarantee personalized support with:

  • Groups limited to a maximum of 5 people
  • Certified and experienced instructors
  • Adaptation of exercises to everyone's needs
  • Monitoring of your progress

I have already taken Pilates classes. Should I start with the beginner level?

"All Levels" classes are open to beginners as well as experienced practitioners. They form the basis of your training, and it is always beneficial to return to them regularly.

The studio also offers intermediate and advanced level classes for those who have already attended several sessions, as well as specific classes focused on mobility or adapted to people with certain pathologies (Health Class).

Which class is right for me?

The first step is to identify your practice level. Do not hesitate to ask the studio's teachers for advice. All equipment is complementary and provides different benefits. We therefore encourage you to explore all types of classes while respecting your level.

Reformer, Springboard, Barrel, Spine Arc: What is the difference?

The classic Pilates method offers several devices, all complementary. Ideally, it is recommended to train on different equipment to vary the resistance and benefit from a balanced muscular work.

Reformer:

  • Versatile device using a system of springs, pulleys and straps to create resistance
  • Allows deep and precise muscle work
  • Suitable for all levels
  • Offers a wide variety of exercises

Springboard:

  • Vertical panel equipped with springs and straps
  • Ideal for strengthening the upper body and improving stability
  • Offers variable resistance for various exercises
  • Promotes postural alignment and body awareness

Ladder Barrel:

  • Composed of a ladder-shaped structure and a padded barrel
  • Designed to improve flexibility and core strength
  • Promotes movements of flexion, extension and rotation of the spine
  • Helps stretch and strengthen the deep muscles of the back and abdomen

Spine Arc:

  • Lightweight and versatile device with a gentle curve
  • Used to lengthen and decompress the spine
  • Can be integrated into mat work to increase the challenge or provide support during exercises
  • Excellent tool for improving mobility, flexibility and core strength

These devices offer a variety of exercises to target different muscle groups and improve posture, flexibility and overall strength. Do not hesitate to ask our instructors for advice to determine which equipment is best suited to your goals and your level of practice.

What is the ideal pace to practice?

Big question! We tend to think that regularity is key and that it is better to come once a week for a long time, rather than 3 times a week for a month. But the ideal pace, the one we recommend, would be 2 to 3 times a week.

What should I bring for my Pilates class?

  • Comfortable sportswear (leggings, shorts, t-shirt)
  • A water bottle
  • Pilates is practiced with non-slip socks (for sale at the studio if needed)
  • Changing rooms are available on site

I need to cancel my class. How do I do it?

You can cancel a class by logging into your online account.

  • Cancellation more than 24 hours in advance: Your credit is automatically credited back.
  • Late cancellation (less than 24 hours before the class): The credit will be deducted.

Our classes are limited to 5 people, so it is essential to let us know in case of cancellation, even late, in order to free the space for a person on the waiting list.

How can I avoid losing my credit in case of late cancellation?

Your place is reserved, let a loved one enjoy it! If you cannot attend your class, you can give it to a friend. To do this, send us an email to info@feelpilates.fr with the name, first name and email address of the person who will take your place.

How does the waiting list work?

  • If a class is full, you can register on the waiting list provided you have a valid credit.
  • If a place becomes available, you will be notified by email and will have a specified time to confirm your registration (no automatic registration).
  • If you do not respond within the allotted time, the place will be offered to the next person.
  • No credit will be deducted if no place becomes available.

Important: If you no longer wish to be on the waiting list, remember to unsubscribe to avoid receiving a last-minute notification.

I am pregnant. Can I participate in a Pilates class?

Each pregnancy is unique. After consulting your doctor, you can book a class by informing us of your situation. The coach will decide if your participation is possible and will adapt the exercises accordingly.

I am injured. Can I participate in a Pilates class?

As with pregnancy, it is essential to seek the advice of your doctor or physiotherapist before resuming physical activity. Inform us of your injury when booking. Our instructors will do their best to adapt the exercises, but your safety remains our priority. In some cases, participation in a group class may not be suitable.
